Erling Haaland Set to Join Manchester City This Summer. Deal Done.

Manchester City has finally found an amazing striker. The team that was targeting Harry Kane for more than a year has now switched their eyes to Erling Haaland from BVB Dortmund. Erling Haaland is nothing less than a sensation. Erling has been dominating the Bundesliga since 2019. He is a high-priced commodity alongside Kylian Mbappe. Here is an in-depth look at what has exactly happened between the two clubs (BVB and Manchester City):

Erling Haaland Will Join Manchester City:

Erling Haaland is certain to join the English Giants. As of the 9th of May, Haaland also cleared the first set of medical tests with the Manchester City doctors. These tests were done in Belgium. The talks about this transfer were active for 3 weeks between both the clubs and the paperwork is finally ready and just the signing is left. One of the most reliable sources, Fabrizio Romano reported about the transfer on his Instagram on Monday.

Haaland to Get Same Wages as Kevin De Bruyne:

The agreed amount for Erling Haaland was 375,000 Euros a week. This amount is equivalent to the wages that Kevin De Bruyne gets. This makes Erling alongside KDB the highest-paid player at City. The formal announcement of this transfer is expected to happen anytime soon this week. Erling will be having a farewell ceremony for the Borussia Dortmund fans as they have been very supportive of him. Their contribution is unmatched in what the Haaland family has to say. Erling Haaland Signs for Manchester City for a long-term contract that will end in June 2027.

Borussia Dortmund to Get 75 million euros from Erling Haaland Transfer:

The release clause for Erling Haaland was at an expected amount of 75 million euros. This is lower than predicted as Erling’s contract with Borussia Dortmund was eventually going to end sometime. However, the club was successful in making a decent sum of money.  Erling’s family is very thankful for the Borussia Club Management and the fans that have supported Erling throughout.

Rivals.com – Rivals100 DE Vic Burley talks top schools ahead of summer visits

Published

on

Vic Burley has a busy summer ahead.

The recruiting process is winding down for one of the most coveted defensive ends in the 2023 class. The Rivals100 prospect has official visits set to Tennessee (end of May), Michigan State (June 3-5), Georgia (June 10-12), and Ohio State (June 24-26). Burley will also take an official visit to Clemson for a game this fall.

On Georgia: “We really want you, that’s been their main message. They’re always contacting me saying hey, we care about you, we want you. They just ask about what’s going on in a normal day, stuff like that. I probably talk to them every day”.

On Tennessee: “I talk to them probably four times a week. (Their message is) we want you here. You’ll be a special part of this team that we can really build around you.”

On Clemson: “Their message is really, D-line U. If you want to be developed, you come here. Now they’re kind of comparing me to Myles Murphy a little bit. A little bit more versatile, down the line.”

On Ohio State: “Just that legacy they have of producing really good defensive linemen. Nick Bosa, Joey Bosa, Chase Young to name a few. It just really stands out.”

On when he wants to commit: “Probably pretty early in the season.”

Georgia, Tennessee, and Clemson have long appeared to be the frontrunners in Burley’s recruitment. That still seems to be the case. A program to watch, however, is Ohio State. The Buckeyes’ tradition of sending top pass rushers to the NFL appeals to Burley, and he feels he could fit well in Ohio State’s defense as a 4-3 defensive end.

Slipping to fifth, Philippines counts on strong finish to push it up the standings

HANOI—The Philippines’ gold haul on Friday was so lean, it dropped the country to fifth place in the 31st Southeast Asian Games.

But as Team Philippines heads to the final stretch of the biennial meet, there are more golds that could put the country in a much better finish.

Hidilyn Diaz’s gold provided the highlight on Friday and there is hope the Olympic champion’s feat will inspire a second wave of gold rush. Team Philippines is setting its sights on a third or fourth place finish in the overall standings even as it slipped to fifth as of 7 p.m. Friday.

The country only has 43 gold medals to show along with 57 silvers and 80 bronzes. Host Vietnam has an insurmountable tally of 158-95-91. Thailand is running second (65-72-102), Singapore third (47-44-62) and Indonesia fourth (46-66-59).

“We still have a bulk (of golds) to expect,” said Philippine Olympic Committee president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino, referring men’s and women’s basketball, billiards, e-sports, boxing and weightlifting. “Singapore has no more.”

“If we all work hard as one, we will win as one,” said commissioner Mon Fernandez of the Philippine Sports Commission, who has been diligently attending to the athletes’ in his capacity as chef de mission. “This is not the time for us to be discouraged since reclaiming No. 3 is still very much possible.”

The optimism isn’t unfounded.

Billiards has assured itself of two more gold medals in this SEA Games as the 10-ball finals took on all-Filipino casts. Rubilen Amit and Chezka Centeno will dispute the women’s gold, while Johann Chua clashes with Carlo Biado in the men’s finals at Ha Dong Gymnasium.

It’s an all-Filipino men’s doubles finals in tennis, too, after defending champion Francis Casey Alcantara and Jeson Patrombon, and Treat Huey and Ruben Gonzales defeated their respective semifinals rivals.

Patrombon and Alcantara trounced Vietnam’s Quoc Le Khanh and Nguyen Van Phuong, 6-4, 6-2.

Huey and Gonzales then scored a 6-4, 6-2 over another local pair Minh Pham Tuan and Trinh Lin Giang.

The Filipinos dispute the gold at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Boxing also has a handful of golds to shoot for, led by Olympic bronze medalist Eumir Marcial’s quest for the region’s middleweight crown.
